Chaine Dinner at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino

The Brief

Chaine des Rotisseurs is the oldest and most prestigious international gastronomic society founded in Paris in 1950 and devoted to the promotion of fine dining and the camaraderie and pleasures of the table.  It was anything but typical when its Philippine Chapitre, headed by its Bailliage de Cebu, hosted its 23rd Induction Dinner Amicale at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, with the theme “Gastronomic Et Vin, Une Histoire D’Amour Eternelle (Gastronomy and Wine, An Everlasting Love Story)”.

Our team was asked to do event styling and decor, stage design and program design according to this year’s theme.  It was imperative that all guests were treated to an unforgettable experience, creating memories that would resonate with them for years to come.

Our Solution

A world-class menu was designed by the chefs of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.  Getting inspiration from such, we created a Versaille Garden inspired tablescape that took inspiration from French cuisine and its culinary influences.

Rectangular tables were arranged to form four sets of long tables with linens in muted colors, while plush Louis XVI medallion chairs with brocade prints were perfectly lined up on each side of the tables.  The long table set-up was uniquely arranged in an “X” formation, with an octagonal-shaped stage that served as the base for the Eiffel Tower décor.  The entire stage was painstakingly covered with green foliage and made to look a wall of a Versailles labyrinth.  Oversized topiary arrangements in tall ceramic vases were made to mimic the brocade prints on the chairs and were placed in between the scroll-shaped hedges painstakingly covered with freshly-picked live moss.

In between service of each course, the San Diego Dance company made an alluring, flawless and gravity-defying dance performances.  Each dance performance was grand yet playful, a fantastic production with careful attention to detail to reflect the vast influence of French cuisine to other world cuisines.
